Sometimes you need to talk about it, and sometimes you just need some time to focus on yourself.

Caring too much can hurt. Often, caregivers end up focusing solely on their loved one, and neglecting to care for themselves. This can lead to compassion fatigue and burnout, and potentially even destructive behaviors can surface such as isolation, apathy, drug dependency, bottled up emotions...  This is not productive or healthy for you OR your loved one. So stop the cycle, take a moment to yourself to breathe and claim your feelings. Guardians Anonymous strives to provide a safe haven for caregivers to meet and talk with people in similar situations, as well as an opportunity to participate in different "relaxation pursuits" to help us unwind and recharge.
